EnviousWispr
Smart Formatting

Say it the way you talk.
Get it the way you type.

EnviousWispr is a free dictation app for Mac. When you say a price, a date, a phone number, a version or a web address, it writes it the way you would have typed it. This happens on your Mac, before any AI step, whenever you dictate in English, and addresses, links and codes are formatted in eight more languages.

Everyday writing

Money, dates and phone numbers,
written out for you.

Dictation usually hands you the words, spelled out, and leaves you to turn them into digits. When you dictate in English, EnviousWispr does that part. Numbers from ten upwards become digits, while smaller ones stay as words, the way most style guides write them.

A full US street address comes out with its digits and commas, and a spoken email address comes out ready to send.

“six thousand two hundred thirty nine dollars”$6,239
“july eleventh twenty twenty six”July 11, 2026
“six fifty p m”6:50 PM
“eight two four six one nine six one seven five”824-619-6175
“john dot smith at gmail dot com”[email protected]

For developers

Versions, hosts and commands
come out whole.

Talking through a bug report or a pull request means saying things like version numbers, ports and IP addresses. EnviousWispr writes them as one piece: 2.5.0, localhost:3000, 192.168.1.1. Dates said with dashes become 2026-09-26, and a code like "S dash one" becomes S-1.

Spoken slash commands work with Spoken punctuation switched off. "slash clear" becomes /clear, which helps when you dictate into a terminal or a chat tool that takes commands.

“version two point five point zero”version 2.5.0
“localhost colon three thousand”localhost:3000
“one nine two dot one six eight dot one dot one”192.168.1.1
“twenty twenty six dash nine dash twenty six”2026-09-26
“S dash one”S-1
“slash clear”/clear

Careful by design

When in doubt,
your words stay as you said them.

Formatting runs before AI polish, so if polish is off or fails, the formatted text is still what gets pasted. When a phrase could mean two things, such as "one twenty", EnviousWispr leaves it as words rather than guessing.

On your Mac

Formatting is a local step. It sends nothing anywhere.

Nothing to set up

It is switched on when you install the app.

In more languages

Addresses, links and codes said in French, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, German, Russian, Portuguese or Italian come out written too.

Every rule,
with examples.

Street addresses, web addresses, small numbers, other languages and the phrases EnviousWispr leaves alone are all covered in the help centre. Spoken punctuation such as "comma" and "new line" is a separate setting, off by default. In English you say the word on its own; in German, French, Spanish and Italian you say a start word first, like "Diktiere Punkt".

Questions people ask

Can I dictate version numbers and IP addresses on a Mac?

Yes. In EnviousWispr, a free dictation app for Mac, saying "version two point five point zero" gives version 2.5.0, and "one nine two dot one six eight dot one dot one" gives 192.168.1.1. Hosts and ports work too: "localhost colon three thousand" becomes localhost:3000.

How do I dictate a slash command like /clear?

Say "slash clear" and EnviousWispr writes /clear, even with Spoken punctuation switched off. "pros slash cons" becomes pros/cons, and an ordinary phrase like "slash the budget" stays as words. Some verb uses, like "slash prices", can still become a symbol.

Do I need AI polish for spoken formatting?

No. Formatting runs on your Mac before any AI polish, automatically, and there is nothing to set up. Spoken number words are converted in English; in other languages the speech engine usually writes digits itself. If polish is off or hits an error, the formatted text is what gets pasted. A polish model that runs may still reword it.

What happens with a phrase that could mean two things?

EnviousWispr leaves it as you said it rather than guessing. "Meet at one twenty" is a time and "paid one twenty" is money, so an ambiguous phrase stays in words for you or the polish step to decide.
