AI polish on your phone

S1-mini cleans up and formats what you said on the phone itself, offline, on Samsung, Pixel and other supported phones. Or use your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini key. See AI polish on Android.

Your tone and format

With S1-mini, pick casual to formal, turn spoken lists into bullet points, and lay out a greeting and sign-off you dictate as an email. A new pick applies from your next dictation.

Your words, spelled your way

Add names and terms with the ways they get misheard, and find your completed dictations again in History. See Dictionary and History.

Gboard

For advanced voice typing on Pixel 6 and later, Google says the text you speak stays on your device except with Fix it or detailed edits; detailed edits send the command transcript and the field text, without audio.

For Rambler on the Pixel 11 series, Google says your text, audio input and corrections are temporarily processed by Google and deleted after your text is delivered; offline, Rambler keeps basic cleanup, punctuation and capitalization. Google's help pages do not describe processing for standard voice typing on other phones.

When Gboard is the better fit.

Start from your keyboard

Gboard voice typing is part of the keyboard, with no separate app. EnviousWispr needs about 1.2 GB of model downloads, a phone with 6 GB of memory and Accessibility access.

Editing by voice

Advanced voice typing on Pixel 6 and later supports commands such as "delete" and "clear", and detailed edits on Pixel 8 and later (English US) insert, delete and replace words by voice. EnviousWispr does not edit text by voice.

Rewriting on recent Pixels

Pixel 9 and later (not 9a) proofread and rewrite on the device. On the Pixel 11 series, Rambler uses Gemini to remove filler words and rewrite on request, processing your speech with Google while online.

Common questions

Is EnviousWispr a Gboard voice typing alternative?

It works alongside Gboard rather than replacing it. You keep Gboard, or any keyboard, and EnviousWispr adds a floating bubble beside the text box. Tap it, speak, and finished text lands at your cursor, with on-device AI polish if you choose it.

Is EnviousWispr for Android free?

Yes. There is no app subscription, trial, account or ads. If you connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini key for cloud polish, that provider's charges and terms apply.

Does Gboard voice typing send my audio to Google?

It depends on the phone and the feature.

Does EnviousWispr send my audio anywhere?

No. Speech recognition runs on your phone and audio is never uploaded. Local AI polish runs on the phone too. With cloud polish on, the selected text and your custom words go directly to the provider you chose.

Which phones does EnviousWispr support?

Android 13 or newer on a 64-bit ARM phone with at least 6 GB of memory, and about 1.2 GB of free storage for its two on-device models. It works best on recent flagship phones such as the Galaxy S26 Ultra and Pixel 8. Entry-level phones with older processors are not supported.

Can I use both?

Yes. EnviousWispr does not replace your keyboard, so if you use Gboard its microphone stays available. You can use either one, depending on what you are writing.
