Dictionary and History on Android
Teach EnviousWispr for Android your names and terms, import or export your words, and find past dictations in History.
The Dictionary tab teaches EnviousWispr how to spell names and terms it might mishear. The History tab keeps your completed dictations on your phone so you can copy them again.
Add a word
- Open Dictionary. Tap the Dictionary tab, then Add.
- Type the spelling. Under Preferred spelling, type the word the way you want it written.
- Add what it might hear. Under What EnviousWispr might hear, add misspellings or aliases, such as a nickname or a common mishearing.
- Pick how strict it is and save. Choose Loose, Default or Strict under Match strictness, then tap Save.
Import or export your words
Import. Tap Import, then either paste words (an EnviousWispr export, or one word per line) or open a .txt list or an EnviousWispr .json export, up to 2 MB.
Export. Tap Export to save your words as a text file named enviouswispr-words.txt.
Find a past dictation
Open the History tab and use Search history. Each card has Copy, Keep (kept dictations stay at the top) and Delete. Open a card to see the final text, the original transcript and which microphone recorded it.
A recording that produced no words, or one you cancelled, is not saved. If the app was closed in the middle of a dictation, History can show that interrupted recording so you know words were lost.
