Is EnviousWispr Free?

Yes. EnviousWispr is a free dictation app for macOS: you hold a key, speak, and your words appear as text in the app you are using. Free means all of it. There is no subscription, no trial period, and no account to create.

What is included for free

Every installation includes the complete feature set, with no hidden tiers and no paywalls.

• Speech engines. Both speech engines, and every language they cover.
• AI polish. AI Polish, including the options that run entirely on your Mac.
• Recording modes. Every recording mode, and keybinds you can set to anything.
• Custom vocabulary. Your own dictionary of custom words, ready-made vocabulary packs, and snippets.
• History with no ceiling. Unlimited dictation, and a History with no limit on how much it keeps.

Can EnviousWispr cost me money?

Only if you choose OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude for AI Polish, or an Ollama hosted model that needs a paid Ollama plan. OpenAI, Gemini and Claude need your own API key, a private password from that company, and you pay that company for what you use. EnviousWispr charges nothing either way.

You never have to go that route. Apple Intelligence, EG-1, S1-mini, and Ollama models you download to your Mac all polish for free. Ollama also has hosted models that run on its own servers, and some of those need a paid Ollama plan.

Why is it free?

The goal is to put EnviousWispr into as many hands as possible. The app is also open source under the GPLv3 license, so you can read the code, build it yourself, and keep using it whatever Envious Labs does later.
