Apple Intelligence Setup

Setting up free, on-device AI Polish with Apple Intelligence.

Apple Intelligence is Apple’s built-in system for processing language on your Mac, and EnviousWispr can use it to tidy up your dictation by removing filler words and fixing punctuation. This option is free to use, requires no API key, and keeps your text on your Mac.

What you need

Before you select Apple Intelligence in EnviousWispr, make sure your Mac meets these requirements:

  • macOS version. You need macOS 26 or later.
  • Hardware. You need a Mac that supports Apple Intelligence.
  • System setting. You need Apple Intelligence switched on in System Settings.

Setting it up

Follow these steps to turn on Apple Intelligence polish inside EnviousWispr:

  1. Open System Settings. Open System Settings, click Apple Intelligence & Siri, and switch it on.
  2. Open EnviousWispr settings. Open EnviousWispr, go to Settings, and click AI Polish.
  3. Select Apple Intelligence. Choose Apple Intelligence from the list of polish options.

You will know the setup worked when your next dictation comes back with the filler words removed and the punctuation corrected.

If it is not available

EnviousWispr checks your Mac and names the missing requirement directly on the AI Polish page. The usual reasons are an older version of macOS, Apple Intelligence not switched on yet, or the model still downloading in the background.

Read Apple Intelligence Not Available if you run into any of those.
